Designed as my Communication Design thesis at the Parsons School of Design, Virile was a year-long process of experimentation and research examining how Filipino identity has been shaped across generations. This project began through numerous interviews with other Filipinos about their experiences with identity, expanding into research on pre-colonial history and pop culture, and studying Philippine textiles firsthand and their relationship to gender identity.

The resulting book pairs portraiture with transcripts of conversations; interwoven throughout the book are inserts referencing specific academic journals, articles, and other forms of media. Virile keeps record of the past while honoring the evolution of Filipino identity.

Virile was featured on Mercado Vicente, Barangay, and Sari-Sari Studio.
